Dealing With Allergies – Help with Hives

Hives are one of the unfortunate side effects of many allergies. These annoying pink bumps and raised patches aren’t just unsightly – they’re also very itchy, burning and stingy!

Hives can pop up anywhere on your body after coming in contact with, or eating something that turns your immune system into overdrive, causing an allergic reaction. They may be relatively small (like a mosquito bite), or big like a dinner plate. Hives may also come in groups or clusters.

Many people associate eating acidic foods like fresh tomatoes or strawberries with hives, but did you know that virtually any food or allergen could cause these itchy bumps to occur? It really just depends on how your body reacts (or over reacts) to the allergens it comes in contact with. While one person may experience itchy watery eyes and a runny nose from pollen, another may get hives!

Are hives very common? Yes! It is estimated that as many as 25% of us will get them at least once in our lives.

When you’re exposed to something that can trigger hives, the cells in your body begin to release a chemical called histamine, which causes fluid to leak from the small blood vessels under the skin. When this fluid collects under the skin, it forms the blotches we call hives.

The most common cause of hives is an allergic reaction to an insect bite, food, or some other allergen. But other things can cause hives to. They include:

-Exposure to the cold (like diving into a cold pool).

-Exercise.

-The sun.

-Stress.

-Infections caused by viruses.

No matter what the cause, a case of hives can last for a few minutes, a few hours, or even a few long days.

Antihistamines can be used to alleviate the itchiness and burning of hives, but they usually go away all by themselves in a few hours, or a few days. Sometimes a stronger prescription medication is needed, however, to alleviate the discomfort of hives.

It is rare, but hives can sometimes be a sign of a more serious allergic reaction that can affect breathing and other body functions. If someone you know exhibits any signs of breathing trouble (a tight chest, swollen throat; raspy voice or wheezing), after you’ve noticed hives appearing, get medical help immediately! If the allergic reaction begins to constrict their throat, it can prevent enough air from getting into the lungs within minutes. Some people who know they have these serious reactions carry a one-shot pen like dose of epinephrine with them called an Epi-pen. Although it will ease their discomfort, they still must get to a hospital right away.

As you can see, hives can be more than juts an itchy annoyance. When coupled with a severe allergy, they can be life threatening. The important thing to remember is that in most cases, they are a temporary reaction to something you’ve touched or eaten and will go away with little if any attention or medication.

Help For Allergies To Food

Food allergies and sensitivities are very common in the world today. Most of us don’t eat the kind of foods that our bodies were built to eat, if we stop and think about it, not to long ago there was no processed foods. Everyone ate what was available in its natural state. More than likely food allergies and sensitivities were not a major problem.

Most of the food available today is processed, manipulated, and changed from its original natural state. With the advent of food processing there has been an increase in people who have developed some type  of food sensitivities and or full blown allergies to food all over the world. Some studies even suggest that the pasteurization process, done to make dairy and other products safer, may aid in our developing food allergies and sensitivities.

The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the FDA, believe that around one to two percent of us will develop allergies as an adult, but think that as many as six percent of our children will develop allergies before they reach the age of five. Based on these findings most of us will develop food allergies as young children, but keep in mind it is still possible to develop an allergy even as an adult weather you had them as a child or not.

The reason that children tend to be more sensitive to food allergens is because their digestive and immune systems are still immature. Many health care providers often recommend to new parents the need to avoid feeding their new born anything but breast milk or formula until the baby reaches four months, but many suggest at least six months.

If you are suffering with food sensitivity or allergies here is what takes place, your immune system kicks into high gear to protect your body from what it see as an intruder. When your body response to certain foods this way it is called allergy, and the symptoms can range from a very mild nausea, discomfort, diarrhea, vomiting and in severe cases, even anaphylaxis

People who are dealing with true food allergies have normally developed them as children, or were sensitive to certain foods when they were very young that have develop into a full-blown allergies as they got older because of the repeated exposure to the that food group. If you have young children many health care providers have suggested that you avoid giving  your small children these highly allergenic types foods until  they have reached two years of age, this may lessen the chance of them developing food allergies.

As per the ACAAI and FDA the main foods you should try and avoid include:

Eggs Fish, shellfish or other seafood Milk or dairy products; soy for some children, especially those with a family history of food allergies. Other nuts, including walnuts Peanuts, including peanut butters or products manufactured with peanuts.       Wheat and gluten,

This list is by no means is all inclusive, you can develop a sensitivity to just about any thing that you eat. Here are a few foods that your are least likely to develop an allergic reaction: rice (which is one reason rice cereal is often the first food given to children)  some natural whole foods which include some vegetables that are non-acidic (like potatoes).

There are many other factors that can increase your chances of developing allergies such as having an impaired immune system, caused by an auto-immune disorder or other illness. children born premature may have an increased chance of developing food sensitivities, main reason is because their digestive and immune systems are underdeveloped because of the early birth.

There is a pretty strong chance that if your parents have some form of food allergies, you will too.

The Foundations of Diet and Exercise: Why Vitamins and Protein will help you lose weight

Everyone who is trying to lose weight and be fit can probably rattle off the right two phrases: Diet and Exercise.  What many people don’t know is the foundation of these two practices.  While many people are able practice these two things and lose weight and see health gains, some people never see results.  Often these people get discouraged and up bouncing around from diet to diet, and fitness routine to fitness routine.  To prevent being in this situation tall people need to do is remember that the key to diet and exercise is incorporating the right fuel for their body.

Protein is the number one nutrient that your body needs when exercising.  It’s so important that it’s useful when trying to lose weight or bulk up.  While some people think of protein as a means to build big muscles; they fail to realize that protein is very important to for losing weight.  First of all, lean muscle burns more calories than any other tissue in the body.  And this happens at rest.  The more muscle in your total body mass, the more calories your body burns each day by simply existing.

The reason protein is so important for building muscle is that all muscles break down and deteriorate during exercise.  Your body needs amino acids in order to repair those tissues, the easier access the body has to the right amino acids, and the easier it is to repair the muscle tissue.  Amino acids = Protein.  Most people get protein in the form of meat, but since lots of meats are also packed with fat, many people want to avoid them in their diet.  The easiest way to make up for this is to take a protein supplement.  Most supplements are either in the form of soy or whey protein.  Whey protein is the best choice for people trying to lose weight, since it is very low in fat.  Whey protein supplements also usually contain all of the necessary, essential amino acids that the body needs.

The other foundation for diet and exercise is making sure that people have all the balanced vitamins that they need.  When you are trying to cut calories one of the most difficult things to do is to keep track of what vitamins you are getting, and which you are not.  Add to this that many popular diets aren’t balanced around vitamin intake (e.g. Atkins and South Beach) and what should be a healthy diet can easily lead your body deprived.  However, there is a simple solution that can help anyone, regardless of what diet plan they are on – take a multivitamin.  If you are sick of eating oranges in the morning for breakfast, but can’t find another source of vitamin C in your diet – take a multivitamin.  If you are sick of having to juggle your vitamin b1, b2, b3, b6, b12s, etc… – take a multivitamin.

Multivitamins give your body all the essential daily vitamins it needs, while giving you the flexibility to eat whatever your diet prescribes.  By taking a multivitamin you will be able to secure your body all the balanced nutrition it needs.  By having balanced nutrition, you won’t experience hunger pains and cravings resulting from a vitamin deficiency.  You also give your body all the tools and resources it needs to break down carbohydrates for energy and repair muscles.  Without a multivitamin your diet may cause more harm than good.

Add multivitamins and protein to your diet and exercise, and you will have set a solid foundation for weight loss and a healthier body.

Nutrition/whole Foods Help Curb Cravings

At the foundation of every craving is an unbalanced diet. Cravings are a sign that either your body has become too dependent on a substance (like salt or sugar) or that your body is missing out on important nutrients. When you fill up on empty calories and junk food, your body will feel like it still needs to eat because it hasn’t received any nutrients with your meals. That’s why one of the most effective ways to reduce your cravings is to eat a balanced diet.

A balanced diet full of whole, unprocessed foods gives your body exactly what it is looking for. When you receive the same kind of nutrients that are necessary for proper body functioning, you won’t have as many cravings. Reduced cravings mean that you won’t overeat and you’ll naturally lose weight.

The first step is to get rid of any processed foods that are a regular part of your diet. Packaged foods that are processed in a factory have excess chemicals and are normally higher in fat and calories than whole foods. Eating a lot of these types of foods will leave your body wanting more of both the chemicals and food in general. When your diet relies on these type of foods, you will feel full but will literally be starving your body of nutrition.

Vitamins cannot replace the natural nutrients and minerals that are found in fresh, whole foods. In order to reduce your cravings and get back on track with eating better, you’ve got to shift your diet. One of the easiest ways to tell if you are eating right is to take notice of where you do most of your shopping at the grocery store. If you are concentrating most of your shopping on the outside aisles, then you’re eating fresh, whole foods. Most processed foods are found in the center rows of a grocery store. Stick to the fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, meats (if you eat them) and you’ll see a reduction in cravings.

In addition to craving more food than you should eat, you may also experience cravings for food substances like salt or sugar. Unfortunately, with these additives the more you eat, the more your body wants them. In order to curb this craving, you’re going to need to take steps to remove them out of your diet entirely.

It may be hard at first, and you’ll definitely go through a withdrawal period where you experience an intensification of your cravings. Increase your water intake, start an exercise program and keep eating healthy. Chemical additives and excess sugar and salt can sometimes be hard food addictions to break. Commit yourself to eliminating these things from your diet for at least 2 weeks and you’ll see a big difference.

The best way to eliminate cravings from your life is to incorporate fresh, whole foods into your diet. Remove harmful substances from your diet and once you get over the initial withdrawal, your health will be better and you won’t experience cravings any longer.

Lose Weight: How the Glycemic Index Can Help?

Proteins give you energy and are needed for your body to manufacture hormones, antibodies, enzymes, and tissues. Your body cannot live without certain essential amino acids found in proteins. They are called essential because your body needs them to function properly, and it cannot manufacture them on its own. You need a regular dose of the essential amino acids in your diet. When you eat a protein, your digestive system breaks these proteins down into amino acids. As food travels through the gastrointestinal tract, your stomach and small intestine excrete enzymes that break the food down so the nutrients can be absorbed into the blood stream.

Your body uses protein as a raw material in the creation of numerous products that are critical for your health. After your digestive system converts the protein into amino acids, they flow through a large vein, called the protal vein, into the liver. The liver then passes the amino acids into the bloodstream which distributes them to tissues. Your body’s tissues, such as muscles and organs, select and store the amino acids they specifically need. They are used to synthesize new tissue or to maintain or repair existing tissue. Some of the amino acids are used to synthesize certain hormones and enzymes that are themselves critical to having your body function optimally and to letting you release fat stores. All of these processes are governed by the genetic intelligence encoded in each cell.

The liver gets involved in the protein digestion process in several critical ways. It converts amino acids that are used by the tissues into other building blocks of the body. It synthesizes amino acids into fibrinogen, the substance used in the blood to form a clot; purines, a class of protein that provides energy; creatine, an energy source for muscle contraction; and many other chemical substances in your body. The amino acids created from protein are also converted into energy. Protein synthesis strengthens your immune systems and helps maintain the fluid balance in your body.

Protein stimulates the pancreas to produce glucagon, a hormone that releases store fat from cells for energy. This process is necessary for weight loss. Unfortunately, the benefit of glucagon can be blocked if you have excessive insulin in your bloodstream from eating too many starches and other high-glycemic carbohydrates.

Eating a meal that is high in carbohydrates boosts the metabolism by 4%. Eating a meal with high-quality lean protein boosts the metabolism by as much as 30%. Not eating enough protein can create digestive problems and fluid retention.

After water, protein makes up the largest portion of your body weight. This includes muscles, ligaments, tendons, organs, nails, and hair. Protein is needed in your diet, so your body is healthy and can function properly. Proteins actually can enhance weight loss. By eating proteins at every meal, you provide yourself with enough nutritional support to keep going into the next meal. All the critical components for fat burning are provided by proteins. Without protein in our meals, we easily become tired. The most common tendency of people who do not eat enough protein for breakfast is to crash during mid to late afternoon and then overeat that quick pick-me-up high-glycemic starch or sugar and this is certainly a fast, simple way to gain weight.

The ideal amount of protein to eat on a daily basis ranges from 50g to 100g. This is certainly variable based on an individual’s particular needs. Protein needs vary based on the sex, body size, muscle mass, and activity level.

In summary, by eating adequate protein your body obtains the building blocks of life, the essential amino acids. Complete proteins are found in meats, sea food, fish, poultry, eggs, and cheese. Sources of incomplete proteins include soybeans, nuts, seeds, and grains.

Protein gives you energy, staves off hunger, staves off fatigue, and helps regulate blood sugar level. If you eat protein for breakfast every day, you will love the amount of energy that will give you. Proteins also help you to reach your ideal size in weight loss.

What can you do to help with Rheumatoid Arthritis or RA, Max GXL, Max International, Glutathione

www.budsbusiness.com Ph# 801-230-3107 If you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, it is important that you know about the discovery that your immune can be both “under-active” and “over-active” at the same time! In fact, scientists have reported that with RA there are both “over-active” B cells and “under-active” T cells. This means that . the “over-activity” is “picking on” the joints, causing inflammation and pain. On the other hand, the “under-activity” represents a weakened ability to deal with “antigens,” ie to “mop up” excess free radicals and “oxidative stress.” This also eventually results in tissue damage and increased inflammation and pain!
